Our Process & Pricing

Do you offer free estimates? For most standard tasks, we can provide a fixed price estimate right over the phone or via text. If your project is complex or requires an on-site evaluation, we’ll discuss that with you upfront so there are never any surprises.

What does “Fixed Pricing” actually mean? It means the price we agree on is the price you pay for the specified scope of work. We don’t believe in “milking the clock.” If a job takes us a little longer than expected, that’s on us—not your wallet.

Are there any hidden service or travel fees? No. Whether you are in Kanata, Orleans, or The Glebe, we don’t charge “truck fees” or “fuel surcharges.” The quote you receive includes our travel to your location within the Ottawa area.

Who provides the materials for the job? We are flexible! You are welcome to purchase the fixtures, paint, or materials yourself to save on costs. Alternatively, we can pick them up for you and add the cost to your invoice. We’ll discuss the best approach during our initial consultation.

Which payment methods do you accept? We make it easy. Through our secure Square Reader, we accept:

  • Credit: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.

  • Debit: Interac Debit (Tap or Chip & PIN).

  • Mobile: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

When is payment due? For standard handyman services and small repairs, payment is due immediately upon completion of the work. For larger renovations, we will agree on a milestone payment schedule before we start.

Is my credit card information safe? Absolutely. We use professional Square technology which features end-to-end encryption. Your sensitive card data never touches our devices and is never stored by My Ottawa Handyman.

What is the “Iron-Clad 48-Hour Guarantee”? We stand by our work. If you notice an issue with our craftsmanship or if something isn’t working as it should within 48 hours of us finishing, call us at 343-997-5556. We will return to fix it at zero cost to you.

Do I need to be home while you work? We require a designated adult (18+) to be present for the start of the job and at the completion to inspect the work and process payment. Your security and satisfaction are our top priorities.

Are you insured? Yes. My Ottawa Handyman is fully insured, giving you total peace of mind while we are working on your property.
